NASA is about to launch Discovery ship to rebuild ISS
The US space agency (NASA) announced on December 7 that it will launch the Space Shuttle Discovery, a week earlier than originally planned.
(Photo: NASA) According to experts, 7-12 is a better time for ship launch than 14-12 previously set. This ship will be on a 12-day universe to rebuild the International Space Station (ISS).
At NASA's press conference, mission officials said if weather conditions permit, Discovery will be launched from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida at 9:35 pm local time (2:35 pm international time).
In the space flight this time Discovery has 7 astronauts, including Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang working for the European Space Agency. This is his first space flight.
The upcoming flight is Discovery's third flight and also the last flight this year. This is also the fourth flight since the Columbia shuttle disaster in 2003 that killed seven astronauts.
After this launch, NASA plans to make 13 more flights into space again on ISS until 2010, the ' retirement ' time of Discovery.
It is expected that astronauts will make two walks into space to repair the ISS.
