Nearly 100 crocodiles are caged in flooding in China

Crocodiles on a farm in Anhui, China have the opportunity to flee after flooding along the Changjiang River allows them to swim through the fence surrounding the barn.

According to Business Insider, on the afternoon of July 6, the authorities seized 8 crocodile crocodiles out of 92 escaped children in Wuhu and Anhui. An elderly man in Hoa Kieu town said when he opened his house in the morning, he caught a crocodile lying on the doorstep. Other villagers also reported that they often met crocodiles during this time and sometimes mistaken them for the log of floating logs on the water.

All crocodiles are kept on a farm. The farm owner said he received recommendations before the flood season and conducted flood-coping measures such as reinforcing the fence. However, the flood pushed the water level more than half a meter above the fence.

This crocodile farm is not the largest in Anhui. Another crocodile farm in Tuyen Thanh city raised more than 10,000 crocodiles. Local authorities carried out many emergency measures to make sure the fence was strong and there was only one crocodile in the barn.

Chinese crocodiles, also known as Truong Giang crocodiles , are native species that can be more than two meters long and have records of their human attacks. In recent decades, the number of crocodiles plunged due to illegal pollution and hunting. Crocodile farming farms serve tourism, take meat, skin and use as traditional medicine.

Wuhu government said Chinese crocodiles are rather shy and do not attack people unless they are frightened or agitated. The working group is composed of animal experts who are catching the crocodiles.

According to farmers participating in the task of finding crocodiles, they are very difficult to catch due to high alertness. When experts on net animals approach, they often dive down and disappear under muddy waters.
