New Skype devices do not need a PC
RTX Products A / S, a Danish company, has just started selling the Skype wireless phone model, which can operate independently without connecting to a PC.
DualPhone 3088 base station is capable of connecting to both broadband and traditional analog voice connections (via PSTN network - public switched voice network) to make Skype calls.
According to RTX Products A / S, the company's model can connect to Skype service without a PC to manage calls. The only requirement of this device is that the Internet connection must be in ready condition (broadband). Irregular connections (often broken after a certain period of time) will cause the signal to be unstable.
DualPhone 3088 has a color display that indicates Skype's contact status. Users can choose to make a Skype call or to make a traditional voice call. The device supports Skype PC, SkypeOut, SkypeIn and Voicemail calls. (Details of DualPhone 3088 can be found here).
RTX Products A / S's new product will be available in Europe through retail stores or online stores from December 1, for $ 206.
