Picture 1 of OpenOffice fixes three security bugs OpenOffice.org has just released a security update for its open-source office suite after three dangerous security bugs were discovered.

Every version of 1.1.x and the latest version of OpenOffice 2.0.x suffers from the above security flaws. Users are advised to upgrade to version 2.0.3 or wait for the upcoming patch to upgrade to version 1.1.5.

All three new security flaws in the open-source OpenOffice office suite have been discovered during an internal test.

The first security error involves small Java applications (Java applets) that can break the "security box" just for them or the operating environment dedicated to them.

The next security error involves processing macros. Security errors can allow macros to be executed even if the user has disabled functionality that allows them to be active.

The final security error involves handling the XML file format. This security error can allow hackers to create a dangerous XML file and trick the user into opening the file to cause a buffer overflow to bring some malicious code into the compromised system. error.

Users can now download security updates for OpenOffice at http://www.openoffice.org/security/bulletin-20060629.html

StarOffice - the set of commercial office application software based on OpenOffice's programming code has similar errors. The patches for StarOffice / StarSuite 8.x and 7.x have been released to fix these security bugs.
