Marcel's owl flew over 960km across England to find a partner.

Leaving the nest in Midlands last month, Marcel flies south, from Doncaster to Cambridgeshire, then to Norfolk, before flying over Milton Keynes.

The tracking device attached to the owl shows that it continues to the Severn Valley in Shropshire and the center of Birmingham. However, unfortunately Marcel still hasn't found a partner and has to return home.

Marcel's route map for about 1 week.

Dr. Kathryn Arnold, senior lecturer in ecology, said her group decided to call the owl Marcel by the name of Marcel Somerville, a candidate to find love in the reality show 'Love Island'.

Arnold said: "Last month, we were shocked to see the satellite tracking data of Bird 16840 - aka Marcel.

After four days of searching without seeing his partner, Marcel traveled all over England. In less than a week, it flew over 960km.

It stopped at a few points but clearly did not find suitable children to marry. "

The number of mosquitoes in the UK has been declining in recent years.

Mosquitoes are moths and beetles. The number of these owls has declined over the years and is on the list to be preserved.

Dr. Arnold added: "My colleague, Lucy Ryan, caught Marcel less than 100 meters from its former nest.

We download GPS data and double check to make sure there are no errors. But the data is very accurate.

After all, it still hasn't found a partner, but the breeding season is still 3 weeks away.
