Encryption systems such as MagiQ (already deployed in some defense organizations) must operate in a way that depends on a host of other factors. In addition, the weak laser light source makes it impossible to produce individual photons, reducing the bit rate of quantum encoding structures and narrowing the distance the signal can travel down to about 120 kilometers.
Once the problem is resolved, combined with the improvements in "mobile quanta," people can send locks to anywhere in the world at full security.
However, before the new quantum-style encryption industry emerges, experts will need to develop technology standards soon so that customers understand what they are using.
