Recover data after incidents with Disaster Recovery

The solution that CMC will introduce at the upcoming ICT Finance exhibition in Hanoi can restore the data center from another site when the main website tries to stop the exchange of information.

Disaster Recovery is built based on remote data replication technology standards, using the system management and operation solution automatically, applied to all systems such as Metro Mirroring or Global Mirroring.

Metro Mirroring allows replication of real-time logical volumes between two sites far away from each other by up to 300km, using technology to replicate data between two sites (local and remote sites).

Global Mirroring provides a remote distance replication feature between two sites using ASynchorous technology. The data that the host writes to the Storage Unit at the site is locally shadowed to the Storage Unit at the remote site as offline. Then, a consistent copy of the data is automatically maintained on the Storage Unit at the remote site.

Disaster Recovery applies to medium and large enterprise systems, requiring high availability. In Vietnam, this solution is suitable for the unit of banking, company and financial, telecommunications, electricity .

The main components of Disaster Recovery include: Data Center (with the system of server equipment, workstations, storage devices / Backups, connected devices, LAN systems, SAN-Storage Area Network); Management and operating software suite and Remote data backup center.

According to experts of CMC, WAN system connecting two sites in this solution is the main factor determining how to replicate data remotely. For the high-speed Synchronous connection model, users need Metro Mirroring replication model, real-time replication, high availability. When using WAN connection with remote distance, small transmission bandwidth, Global Mirroring is required. With this model, the data will be duplicated offline so the availability of the system is not high.
