Scientists had a way to activate the state

Scientists had a way to activate the state of "soul-leaving" in volunteers, a phenomenon that every 10 people experienced. The study was conducted by two scientific groups from the University of London, England and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

For some people, the near-death experience or the state of mind leaving the body happens randomly, while for others it appears in dangerous situations where the person almost dies - a state of lightheadedness like dream or like using alcohol or drugs.

When researchers knocked on their backs with pencils, volunteers also found their virtual bodies being knocked, simultaneously or just a little slower.

Volunteers said it was the sensation caused by the pencil that knocked on the virtual back (not the real knock on the back) that made them think that their virtual body was real, not just an effect. usually, common, normal.

Even when the camera switches to the back of a mannequin with a pencil, the volunteers still feel like that virtual mannequin is their reality.

And when the team turned off the video on the glass, instructed volunteers to step back a few steps, then asked them to step back to their original positions, the volunteers were all over the goal, coming closer to the position. of "virtual body".

Dr. Henrik Ehrsson, the lead researcher in the UK, conducted the same experiment and found that volunteers had physiological reactions - increased sweating - when they felt the virtual body was threatened, like type being hammered for example.

The authors say their findings can be practical, for example, to create more realistic video games, making gamers feel like they are blending into the real game. Doctors can also operate patients thousands of miles away by controlling their own virtual robot.
