Reduce the risk of cancer by 50% if you eat apples every day
Regular eating of apples reduces the risk of bowel cancer, according to the latest study in Finland published in the European Journal entitled Cancer Prevention.
The tests compared 592 sick patients compared to 765 cases of normal health.
The results showed that people with cancer ate 9.5 servings per week, compared with those who did not get sick eating 11 servings per day.
The risk of a significant decrease in the group eating an apple a day and if eating more than one apple a day reduces the risk of cancer by half.
Eating other fruits or vegetables does not prevent similar colon cancer.
The protective effect of apples may be due to high levels of flavonoids. These substances act as antioxidants and are concentrated in apple shells, which prevent free radicals from damaging cells and can exert malignant cells.
The antioxidant content of apple peel is 5 times higher than that of fruit flesh so choose to buy clean apples, wash thoroughly and eat immediately, not peeling.
However, the World Cancer Research Fund said: the risk of all types of cancer will be reduced by 30-40% by changing lifestyles such as eating more fruits and vegetables, practicing more and always watching over heavy.
