New footage released by drone company OT Sky shows the super city in Saudi Arabia's The Line project being built, Arabian Business reported on October 21. In the video recorded from above, many excavators work in the middle of an empty desert. The machines are creating a wide trench where the foundation of the straight city is expected to be laid.

The Line is part of a large project called NEOM , worth 500 billion USD. When completed, the city will be 200 meters wide and 170 kilometers long. Residents can travel between the two ends of the city in just 20 minutes thanks to high-speed rail. The city has a mirror exterior, about 500 m high, surpassing the Empire State Building (450 m) and the Eiffel Tower (330 m).

The Line will be home to 9 million people and will be built on an area of about 34km2 . The city has full amenities such as public parks, pedestrian areas, schools, and workplaces. Residents can access all amenities within just a 5-minute walk. With no roads, cars or emissions, the city will run on 100% renewable energy.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman first announced plans to build The Line in January 2021. The project helps diversify Saudi Arabia's economy, reducing dependence on oil. "The Line will address the challenges humanity faces in today's urban life and pave the way for alternative ways of living," said the Crown Prince.

The Line is located in Tabuk province, northwest Saudi Arabia. From here you can travel to 40% of the world's destinations in just 6 hours by air. The climate in the city remains temperate all year round. Besides, open and green spaces throughout the city will help increase the feeling of comfort for those who live, work and visit this place.
