Robot brutally attacks engineer at Tesla factory, has the scariest scenario of the future happened?
An engineer working at a Tesla factory was seriously injured after being attacked by one of the assembly robots.
Dailymail reported that an engineer working at Tesla's Giga Texas factory was suddenly attacked by a robot and seriously injured while working.
Two witnesses to the incident said they saw their colleague being brutally attacked by the robot, which is designed to pick up and move cast aluminum car parts. Specifically, the incident is said to have occurred while the engineer was programming software for two disabled Tesla robots nearby when the assembly robot suddenly pinned the victim down, then dug its metal claws into his back and arms, leaving a "blood trail" along the factory floor.

The incident reportedly left the victim with multiple 'open wounds' on his left hand, which were disclosed in a 2021 injury report filed with Travis County and federal regulators. According to Tesla's report, the engineer's incident occurred on November 10, 2021, and the injuries were not severe enough to require the engineer to take time off work for treatment.
Injury reports filed with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration suggest that nearly one in 21 workers at the Giga Texas plant were injured last year. Across the auto industry, the average injury rate was one in 30 workers in 2022.

Sharing with Information , some current and former workers at Tesla said that the company often speeds up the stages of construction, maintenance and operation in a way that puts workers at risk.
Witnesses said heavy machinery including cranes, steel beams and air conditioning ducts fell near workers on the auto production line. Records reviewed by the Information show workers at the plant also fell ill after being exposed to toxins such as ammonia.
Last summer, an employee's ankle got stuck under a cart, forcing him to miss more than four months. Days later, another worker was struck in the head with a metal object, forcing him to miss 85 days, according to the Information.

According to the Information, another incident occurred at the plant in early 2023 when water accidentally flooded molten aluminum used in the casting area that makes the chassis of Tesla's Model Y, leading to an explosion that witnesses said sounded like a "sonic boom." The explosion reportedly created a fireball and smoke that shot into the air, sending employees running in panic. However, it's unclear how many people were injured because that information wasn't included in documents filed with Texas safety inspectors.
