The Russian non-Russian control center said yesterday: "The remaining fragments of the space cargo ship have fallen into the ocean after returning to Earth's atmosphere at 1149 hours" Moscow time, Sunday. "
The Progress M-65 ships from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on September 10 to transport more than 2.5 tons of fuel, oxygen, drinking water, food and medicine to the ISS station. Then the ship operated as a makeshift lab here for about a week before leaving.
Recently Russia also launched similar cargo ship Progress M-01M to ISS station on November 26 to transport 2.5 tons of food, drinking water, fuel, scientific equipment and especially new year gifts to astronauts work on the ISS station. The ship arrived at the destination on November 30 and is staying at this orbit.
Progress is Russia's self-destruct unmanned cargo ship, serving as a supply mission for the ISS and formerly the Soviet space station. Every year, there are 3 to 4 trains of Progress ship to ISS station. After unloading, the astronauts on the station will transfer waste into the ship and it will leave the station, launch out of orbit and destroy itself.
