Salt water reduces arthritis pain
Scientists have found a simple way to combat the pain caused by arthritis: immersion in salt water.
Researchers say salt water works to relieve painful joint inflammation.
Even high-standard table salt can be used to relieve pain caused by inflammatory joints.
It is worth mentioning here that salt water does not leave unwanted side effects like some conventional arthritis medications.
'This research opens up many interesting opportunities. What we just found has the potential to be used to help many patients , 'the Daily Express quoted Vincent Compan of the University of Manchester's Department of Life Sciences.
Dr. Compan and his colleague, Dr. Pablo Pelegrin, found that the cells in the body of an arthritis suffer from swelling but saline water can reduce this swelling by dehydrating these cells.
Salt water promotes equally effective treatment whether it is injected into the body or absorbed through the skin through bandages soaked in saline or through immersion in salt water tanks, according to the scientist.
