Texting and gaming often wears out joints

Arthritis is a time bomb for people under the age of 40 when they spend too much time on entertainment activities like chit chat and playing games.

Arthritis is common in people in their 50s or older, but experts recommend that this age mark is gradually decreasing. Surgeon Mark Ciaglia said on FOX5 that the joints of people in their 40s or younger years are more and more inflamed and less flexible.

In one day, adults spend 23 hours to type, chat; Children spend 7 hours playing games. This situation will make an entire generation suffer from arthritis, experts warn.

" The use of too many computers to chat, play games, type computers makes joints wear out soon , " said Ciaglia, an expert on special surgeries in Texas. According to experts, frequent arthritis by playing games and texting is caused by sitting in the wrong position and catching fingers moving continuously . At the same time, we put too much pressure on joints, ligaments and muscles.

"At the end of a working day, do you ever take the time to" exercise "your joints like twisting and turning? The more you" abuse "your joints, the sooner you have to receive consequences , " said Ciaglia. She understands that it is impossible to take fingers to stop moving, but according to Ciaglia, "it is best to do something right".

The phenomenon of joint pain after texting for too long is not only seen in adults but also in children. More and more children suffer from arthritis and pain in the wrist. Surveys show that teenagers send 3,340 messages within a month, about 50 messages a day.

Another study in the Kaiser Family Foundation also revealed that an average of 95 minutes a day for middle and high school students."A position that often has the most arthritis due to repeated hand movements is the lower part of the thumb. This type of injury causes sharp and spread pain to the forearms," Dr. Nanavat from Kaiser Family Foundation speaks on Everday Health.

Dr. Ciaglia is not the only expert in fear of developing arthritis in young people . Dr. Robert Wysocki - surgeon of hands, arms and elbows at Rush University Medical Center also noted this issue. According to him, the problems associated with joints and ligaments are increasing and getting worse due to the frequent use of computers and smartphones.

If you have pain or if your thumb is stiff and it gets worse when using the phone, then according to Wysocki, you should change your posture. For example, hold the phone with your hand unacceptably or press the message with your index finger so that your thumb can rest.
