Scientists think that you can get gonorrhea because of French kissing
Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. As far as general knowledge is concerned, we often assume that diseases like these can only be spread through contact with the genitals. However, a new study has shown that deep French kissing may be the cause of throat gonorrhea . Gonorrhea is a disease that can arise in the throat, eyes, genitals and is very difficult to treat.
According to Sexually Transmitted Infections specialized magazine, deep kissing can be a pathway to spread gonorrhea.

Historically, public health activists have always advised people to use condoms to avoid gonorrhea, but information from researchers in Melbourne and Australia has shown this advice. probably won't be enough to protect people from this disease anymore. Scientists collected data from more than 3,000 men in a public health examination from 2016 to 2017. Participants were asked to answer survey questions about sexual behavior with their partners. His work in the last 3 months, including "just kissing and not having sex", or "having sex but not kissing" and "having both kissing and relationship".
Surprisingly, although only 1.4% of people "only kissed and did not have sex" , the number of people with throat gonorrhea in this group was higher than those who "had sex but did not kiss". After analyzing all relevant factors, the ability to spread gonorrhea in those who kiss more than 4 partners is 46%. On the other hand, for those who have more than 4 partners in which both kiss and have sex, the likelihood of throat gonorrhea can be up to 81%.
This makes researchers conclude that throat gonorrhea can be spread only by deep kissing. However, they also emphasized that this study is only an observational study, so it cannot provide the cause as well as the specific effect of this phenomenon.
"Everybody suggested that watching kissing as a way of spreading gonorrhea, but this is often neglected," said Professor Eric Chow of the Melbourne Center for Sexual Health (Australia). He also suggested that using mouthwash with antibacterial properties could be an effective way to reduce the risk of throat gonorrhea.
Gargling with mouthwash with antibacterial properties can reduce the risk of disease.
Professor Chow also said that more research is needed and his team is currently working on an experiment to examine the effect of gargling daily with antibacterial water in preventing gonorrhea.
Scientists also said that most of the study participants were male sexually gay or bisexual men, because Australian gonorrhea was more common in gay couples.
