The conference was attended by more than 120 delegates from Asian countries, participating in current nuclear power and representatives of countries with developed nuclear power industry such as France and Japan. Korea, China, Russia .

The conference was organized to create opportunities for state management agencies, nuclear power experts and enterprises in Vietnam to access and exchange information and lessons learned from the nations. Previously in issues related to nuclear power projects to apply to the situation of Vietnam.

At the conference, delegates discussed issues related to the prospects and role of nuclear power; regional nuclear power development and opportunities for cooperative programs; resources and technology, in which the experience in the early stages of the new nuclear program; The first steps of preparation for building a new nuclear power plant and finding consensus from the public are the content discussed actively.

Delegates all said that developing nuclear power will contribute to diversifying primary sources, enhancing security in energy supply, ensuring domestic resources are used appropriately; strengthen scientific-technical potentials and technology for infrastructure development, promote many industries and economic growth.

Nuclear electricity creates conditions to reduce emissions of air pollution and is consistent with the current trend, the future of the region and the world; ensuring balance, fully meeting the energy needs of the country in the future, conserving fossil material sources; ensuring economic efficiency when competing with imported fuels.

Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) said that Vietnam is now rushing to prepare preparations to start construction of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant in 2014 and bring the first unit First operation in 2020.
