Sichuan inspired more than 3,000 aftershocks

The devices detected 3,407 aftershocks after a strong earthquake in Sichuan province last weekend.

The Center for Chinese Earthquake Monitoring Networks announced on the social network Weibo that, as of 10 April 23, their devices recorded 3,407 aftershocks in Sichuan. 4 aftershocks with intensity from 5 to 5.9 Richter scale, 21 aftershocks with intensity from 4 to 4.9 Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that collisions between two Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates could be responsible for the earthquake in Sichuan Province, China, April 20. According to USGS, it is very likely that the epicenter was on Longmen milling road - the place of the shocking earthquake in Sichuan 5 years ago.
