Singapore inaugurated the first water park

In order to contribute to preserving freshwater ecosystems and diverse biological resources, on April 3, Singapore officially opened the first water park named "River Safari" in this country.

Located on the Mandai Nature Reserve campus and with a total investment of about $ 129 million, this 12- hectare River Safari water park displays a habitat simulation of thousands of freshwater animals from 8 zones Typical river basins in the world include the Mississippi River, Congo, Nile, Murray, Mekong, Yangtze, Amazon and Ganges rivers.

The park will be home to 150 species of plants and 5,000 individuals representing 300 species of animals, including some endangered large animals such as giant salamanders, freshwater stingrays giant and giant Mekong catfish.

The giant freshwater stingray in the Mekong and the giant Mekong catfish that this park has is one of the largest freshwater fish species in the world.

Besides these 8 biosphere zones, the park also has indoor display areas where visitors can take a closer contact with more than 30 species of animals along the river banks such as jaguar, Brazilian tapirs, Giant anteater .

However, the staff at River Safari Park said sightseeing activities would be undone due to the need to check the work to ensure the safety of guests when sailing on the river.
