Smart people have less headaches
High IQ is not only to distinguish genius from ordinary people, but it also implies that smart people will be less likely to experience headaches caused by alcohol.
New research by Scottish scientists shows that smart people have less headaches, accompanied by nausea, dry mouth, sensitivity to light and sound, after a night of drinking.
"The important thing we find is that 11-year-olds with high IQs are likely to suffer from headaches due to low-middle-aged alcohol," said David Batty at the University of Edinburgh.
Batty and colleagues investigated the IQ of 11-year-old students in 1962 and sent a questionnaire about their drinking habits in 2000-2003.
The answer from more than 7,000 people showed that high IQ was associated with low density of headaches due to low alcohol content. Researchers believe that the reason is that by smart people, they will be more restrained than their intoxication.
