Son Tinh storms weakened into low pressure, North Trung Bo was heavy rain

On the night of July 18, the typhoon landed on the mainland, the center of storms in the coastal areas of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces was strong at level 7.

Due to the impact of the storm, from the afternoon and night of 18/7 in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, rain has been 70-150 mm. The coastal area of ​​the provinces from Thai Binh to Ha Tinh has strong winds of level 6, the center of storms of Nghe An and Ha Tinh at level 7. Hon Ngu Island (Nghe An) has strong winds of level 7 (50 to 60 km per hour), recoil level 9; Tinh Gia and Ngoc Tra districts (Thanh Hoa) have level 9 winds.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, at 4:00 am on July 19 , the tropical depression center (weakened by Typhoon Son Tinh) is on the mainland of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces with the strongest wind power of 40 to 60km per hour (level 6-7).

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours , tropical depressions will move in the west, each hour can go 20 to 25 km, go deep into the land and weaken into a low pressure area. By 16:00 on July 19, the low pressure area was on the mainland of Central Laos, the strongest winds fell below 40km per hour (level 6).

Due to the influence of tropical depression, in the morning of July 19, in the Gulf of Bac Bo, there were strong winds of level 6-7, level 8-9, high waves of 2-4m, strong seas. On the mainland, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces in the early morning have strong winds of level 6, level 7-8.

Warning of heavy rain and flood

The meteorological agency said that the circulation after the storm will cause widespread rain. On July 19 night, in the plain and midland areas of Northern Vietnam, the provinces of Yen Bai, Hoa Binh, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh have heavy rain.

From July 20, heavy rains are likely to expand to the northern mountainous provinces and the Northwest region. Heavy rains in the North and Central provinces are likely to last for many days.

The area of ​​Hanoi on and the night of July 19 has rain and thunderstorms. In the storm the possibility was high, the whirlwind and the wind jerked.

The Central Highlands and the South are affected by the southwest monsoon, which is strongly active so it will continue to rain in the next 2-3 days, the time of rain concentrates in the afternoon and night.

According to the meteorological agency, from now until July 20, on the upstream system of the Red River (Thai Binh), Hoang Long River, rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will appear a flood.
