There is a land called the desert but its appearance is not like a desert at all. It is the Sonoran desert in northwestern Mexico, bordering Arizona (USA). Sonoran was formed from the Holozoic period - 10,000 years ago when the climate changed from rain and wet to warm and dry.

This constitutes an area called the " southern shield " of the Americas consisting of deserts and mountains.

The life in Sonoran's heart is very diverse and rich, completely not the " earthly hell " as people often think of the desert. There are quite dense, dense vegetation here that we can see trees everywhere on this 2,000-square-kilometer land. Typical of the vegetation here is a giant cactus with many vertical branches.

Plants, what about animals? It is not surprising if we see in the sand the footprints of animals hidden in the desert, of rodents, of reptiles that are typically like rattlesnakes.

Just a rain lasting for a few hours, this land again sprouted as if preparing for a crop. Plant varieties that are stacked together like organ herds are often easy to absorb rainwater and sprout very quickly. This reminds us of the transformation of a monster when affected by the external environment.

In the months of May and June (the driest two months), the cacti begin to bloom. These flowers are a source of food to feed birds, insects and especially bats. In contrast, these animals will carry pistils of cacti that stick to their bodies everywhere in the process of wandering for food, helping the cactus to be pollinated everywhere.

The surviving lucky flowers will form succulent fruit. If life here is like a curtain hanging, how can cacti live and multiply millions of seeds every year. The lifespan of the cactus here can be up to 250 years.

When there is a slight chill in the winter and steady rains throughout the rainy season, the flora and fauna population here will race, show off the flamboyant, make Sonoran a green " desert. " ", more refreshing than any other desert in the world.

According to experts, Sonoran is not a true desert with typical bushes often found in southern Mexico. You can define Sonoran as an ecological community that must always cope with harsh conditions, not merely to survive but also to exist in a beautiful way.
