South Central Coast is flooded again

Many places in Quy Nhon City are flooded. One person in Phu Yen was washed away by floodwaters.

According to the Central Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on the 28th and 29th of November, in the provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa, there has been moderate rain and heavy rain. As of November 29, the common rainfall is from 70-150 mm, particularly in Binh Dinh province from 100-180 mm, some larger places like An Nhon: 260 mm, Thanh Hoa: 298 mm, Quy Nhon: 344 mm .

Rain has caused a great flood on rivers and streams in the provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa. The water level at 16:00 on November 29 on Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc bridge: 3.02 m, under alarm (real estate) I: 0.48 m; Ve river at Song Ve bridge: 2.97 m, on I: 0.47 m; Kon river in Thanh Hoa: 7.53 m, under III: 0.47 m; Ba river in Cung Son: 29.86 m, on I: 0.36 m.

Floods in the rivers in Quang Ngai slow down but floods of rivers from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa continue. Forecast, to November 30 morning, the flood of rivers from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa: Song Kon at Thanh Hoa to 7.8 m, under III: 0.2 m; Ba river at Cung Son to 32 m (District II), at Phu Lam up to 2.5 m, under the second gear: 0.2 m. Rivers in Khanh Hoa go to real estate level I.

In two consecutive days on November 28 and 29, in Binh Dinh province, there was heavy rain that made many streets in Quy Nhon City flooded, such as Tran Hung Dao, Tang Bat Ho, Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Thi Dinh and Tran Cao Van, Hai Ba Trung, Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, Tran Thi Ky, Dien Hong . In the night of November 28, heavy rain caused landslides, collapsing 2 houses in Group 27, Area 5, Dong Da Ward, Quy Nhon City.

Mr. Nguyen Chan (55 years old) is the head of Phong Thai village in An Linh mountainous commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province, the 10th victim of Phu Yen province this year washed away by floods.

Vice Chairman of Tuy An District People's Committee cum Head of District Flood and Storm Prevention and Rescue Division, Mr. Nguyen Phung Ngoan, said the tragic accident for Chan was on the afternoon of November 28 when he and his wife went through the Luoi stream. Smashed while the floodwaters rushed due to heavy rain continuously for the past 3 days. When flooded with water, Chan tried to push his wife to the shore, and he was exhausted, the floodwaters swept away. Later, Chan's body was found about 500 meters away from Lu Dam stream.
