South Korea's scientific satellite contacted the ground station on January 31, marking the full success of its first satellite launch mission, Yonhap quoted officials as saying.

Accordingly, signals from satellites were transmitted to the ground station of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology located in Daejeon, 160 kilometers south of Seoul, at 3:00 am on January 31 (local time).

Earlier, the STSAT-2C satellite weighed 100kg and was propelled by the KSLV-1 (Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1, also known as Naro-1) into space from the Naro Space Center at the coast. South Korea, at 16:00 on January 30 (local time, 14 hours on the same day as Vietnam time).

According to Yonhap, the satellite STSAT-2C is manufactured by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, with a life span of about a year, flying around the Earth about 14 times a day to collect information about cosmic radiation.

Meanwhile, KSLV-1 boosters are the result of cooperation between Korea and Russia. The second floor of Naro-1 - a two-stage rocket using solid fuel - was built by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, while the first floor was built by the Khrunichev Space Research and Production Center (Russia). perform.

After the initial success, Seoul is planning to continue developing a spaceship and promises to bring it into space soon. In addition, the country also plans to develop a new rocket that can lift a larger volume by 2021.
