Spain discovered unique insects

The " Protonemura Gevi " insects have a pair of antennae used as very long antennas, their eyes are atrophy and their wings are reduced.

According to the research team, these traits are the result of evolution to adapt to life in deep underground caves.

The CMAA said previously that an Iberian species recorded under an underground cave in the ground, however, researchers have also found the presence of this species in the surface layer of water.

However, in the case of " Protonemura Gevi " the team did not detect any of them when surveying the surface areas around the said cave area.
