Squid hunting and cannibalism at a depth of nearly 800 meters

Squid more than two meters eat each other when no food is found in the deep waters of the Pacific that surprised many people.

The documentary of the natural documentary Blue Planet II first approached depth of more than 760 meters off Chile to record humboldt squid prey, Telegraph reported.

Squids longer than two meters flock to this sea to hunt lantern fish. They swam across groups at 24km / h, attacking cameras and turning to cannibalism when food ran out. In one scene, two humboldt squids fought to scramble for a smaller squid."When they can't find fish, they hunt each other," said David Attenborough, the host.

living in herds of up to 1,200, is one of the world's most ferocious predators, with eight regular tentacles and two long tentacles dedicated to feeding, each covering hundreds of suction cups.

However, because they hunt in the dark at night, it is difficult to record them in the wild. The BBC film crew collaborated with ocean scientists to find the location of the lantern fish, then sit for hours and wait for the squid to appear.
