According to UPI, a group of biologists at the Center for Scientific Research of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences (ZRC SAZU), found a new discovery about the mating behavior of Darwin's bark spider .

During fieldwork, biologists observed that males of Darwin's bark spider (Caerostris darwini) in Madagascar often secreted saliva on their female genitals. In addition to oral sex, Darwin's bark spider also shows acts of killing mates after mating and cutting off the female's genitals.
