Students fabricate unique video surveillance systems

Students at the Faculty of Physics and Applied Mathematics at Vladimir National University (Russia's Eastern European city, 176km east of Moscow) have built unique devices capable of detecting and blocking Any violation, from truancy to terrorism. A unique video camera instantly recognizes the person looking in the database and transmits the signal.

The video surveillance system was built at Vladimir University to operate in crowded areas. The machine can simultaneously identify in a crowd of more than 20 people and identify the person to look for. Inside the surveillance system there are camera settings with two matrices to observe the infrared range and view. That machine can work in complete darkness. When a suspicious person enters the so-called "control area" , after three seconds the information will appear at the compound operator if the person's image is stored in the database. Immediately, the image comparator is obtained in real time with data images over hundreds of basic parameters.

The first tests of unique equipment are applied by the inventors themselves, ie the normal students. Then the system was tested in the crowded metro at St Petersburg and one of the Moscow train stations. All trials were successful. Webcams prove that with the presence of a database of potential dangers, the machine can prevent the occurrence of specific people at specific locations.

Precisely where the camera is mounted is a secret. But the equipment has been of interest to experts from the Ministry of Education and Science. Inventors hope that the video surveillance system will soon be used in public transport, in large enterprises and in crowded places such as stadiums, concert halls, parks.
