Students protect wild animals
Students from many different universities in Ho Chi Minh City have just finished studying and working at Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Area.
Students from many different universities in Ho Chi Minh City have just finished studying and working at Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Area. This is an opportunity for students to have serious thinking about protecting wild species.
This activity is part of an annual program called "Summer Motion , " which was first launched by Wildlife Protection (WAR) this year.

"Summer movement" is an opportunity for students to visit, study and work for free at the Wildlife Rescue Stations managed by WAR, participating in the program, young people are found understand animals, careers related to wildlife protection, as well as experience and contribute to animal rescue at the Rescue Station.
Students can also observe and learn about life and process of saving more than 50 rare and precious species in Hon Me wildlife rescue area such as horse bear, sun bear, black-cheeked crested gibbon, small cu cu, langur silver, Pangolin, wild cat, snakes, turtles and small carnivores.
At the same time, the students also participated in preparing food and animals, and cleaning, painting cages, distributing grass, and growing food crops for rescued species. The group of students also collaborated with local forest rangers to distribute flyers to protect wildlife to nearly 500 households in Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province.
Also during the 5-day-4-night trip, students learned about wildlife-related professions. They also practiced a number of basic skills in animal protection such as watching reptiles and night animals, using night-time camera traps, photographing animals with specialized equipment and photographic skills.

In addition, students also participate in a number of side activities such as the 'I love the wild animal' Fashion Design and Fashion Competition, visiting historic sites, and participating in games.
Ms. Do Thi Thanh Huyen, Conservation Education Manager, WAR said, summer movement is a program to connect young people to the protection of wildlife."This is an opportunity for you to study, work and seriously think about protecting wildlife. WAR expects more and more young people to decide to work or do something for nature and animals. in Vietnam, " said Huyen.
