Super typhoon Manyi enters the East Sea, cold air moves slowly
Last night, super typhoon Manyi entered the East Sea, becoming storm number 9 with wind gusts of level 15, then gradually decreasing. Cold air will cause temperatures in the Northeast and North Central regions to drop today.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4:00 a.m. on November 18 , the center of the storm was located at about 18.0 degrees North latitude; 118.9 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 11-12 (103-133 km/h), gusting to level 15. Moving northwest at a speed of about 25 km/h.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 19 , the storm moved in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h, continuing to weaken further in the North East Sea; about 370 km northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago with winds of level 10, gusts of level 12.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 20 , the storm moved in a West-Southwest direction at about 15 km/h, continuing to weaken further in the western area of the North East Sea; about 210 km northwest of Hoang Sa archipelago with winds of level 8, gusting to level 10.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 21, the storm moved southwest at a speed of about 10 km/h, gradually weakening into a tropical depression, then a low pressure area in the sea off the Central Central Coast with wind force level 6.
Super Typhoon Manyi has entered the East Sea, becoming the 9th typhoon of 2024.
The eastern sea area of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 8-9, near the eye of the storm level 10-12, gusting to level 15, waves 3.0-5.0m high, near the eye of the storm 5.0-7.0m; rough seas. Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and large waves.
Cold air moves slowly
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (November 18), the cold air mass is still moving south.
Around November 18, this cold air mass will affect some places in the Northeast region of the North; then affect other places in the Northeast and North Central regions, some places in the Northwest and North Central regions. Northeast wind inland level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.
From the night of November 18 , in the Northeast and Thanh Hoa, the weather will turn cold at night and early morning; from November 20, in the North and North Central regions, the weather will be cold at night and early morning. The lowest temperature during this cold air mass in the North and North Central regions will generally be from 18-20 degrees, in mountainous areas, some places will be below 15 degrees.
At sea: in the Gulf of Tonkin from the night of November 18, there will be strong northeast winds at level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough seas; waves from 2.0-3.5m high.
In the North East Sea area, the Northeast wind (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) is strong at level 6-7, gusting at level 8-9; the sea is rough; waves are 2.0-4.0m high.
Due to the influence of disturbances in the upper East wind zone combined with cold air, from November 18-19, in the North and Central Central regions, there will be rain , showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally heavy rain in some places. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes. Strong winds and large waves at sea may affect the operation of ships and other activities.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan : The North is cloudy, with rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally heavy rain in some places; the South is cloudy, sunny during the day, showers and thunderstorms at night in some places. Northeast wind level 2-3. The lowest temperature in the North is 21-24 degrees, in the South is 22-26 degrees. The highest temperature is 28-31 degrees.
Central Highlands : Cloudy, sunny during the day, scattered showers and thunderstorms at night. Northeast wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 19-22 degrees. Highest temperature 28-31 degrees, some places above 31 degrees.
Southern region: Cloudy, sunny during the day, showers in some places in the evening and at night; sunny during the day. East to northeast wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature 31-34 degrees.
