Supersonic transplants over the Atlantic for three hours

A supersonic aircraft can fly across the Atlantic in just three hours to complete the first successful flight test.

The "Descendants of Concorde" aircraft is being developed by American Spike Aerospace. An unmanned prototype of the S-512 supersonic aircraft took off in the New England area, Oct. 14, according to Sun.

According to Spike, the flight test took place smoothly and the aerodynamic design of the aircraft was very effective. The company expects this private aircraft to be completed by early 2021 and delivered to customers two years later.

The S-512 can carry up to 22 passengers, with a range of 9,978km. The S-512's cruise speed is 1,976km / h, 1.6 times faster than the speed of sound. Spike said the aircraft was designed to fly over land without causing uproar.

"Flight trials are conducted in real-world situations and provide far greater amounts of data than wind tunnel testing in artificial environments. It's a series of specifications, " said Vik Kachoria, chief executive of Spike.
