Surprise like special onions in the UK, no longer have to worry about burning eyes
It took up to 35 years for scientists to breed and develop this special sweet onion variety, which does not cause eye irritation.
New varieties of onions that do not cause eyestrain will be available for sale in the UK in the coming days.
The "non-spicy onion (Sunion)" variety will officially go on sale in the UK in the coming days, according to the Independent.
Nasir Ahmed, BASF's customer service manager, said: "In the past, a lot of people had trouble cutting onions. They tried everything to fix it, such as freezing onions, soaking in water, . however they were all ineffective. All of this has changed now, thanks to the new BASF product."
The new onion variety will go on sale on January 18 at the Waitrose supermarket chain in the UK for a limited time.
A Waitrose representative said: 'This onion variety is perfect for people with sensitive eyes as well as children.
This type of onion will be more expensive than normal onions, one bulb costs up to 50 Penny (15,000 VND), while a regular onion costs 15 Penny (4,000 VND), according to Sky News.
Initially, Sunion was developed by the agricultural group Bayer, the project was later taken over by the chemical company BASF.
