System for turning CO2 into fuel for engines in Canada

Scientists from Canada are building a factory to recycle carbon dioxide (CO2), which can suck carbon dioxide out of the air and combine it with hydrogen obtained from other renewable energy sources; then turning it into hydrocarbon fuel can provide power for electric cars, airplanes and other vehicles.

The technology is still in its infancy and requires significant investment to be completed soon. For Carbon Engineering, the company's system is expected to extract only about 450 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the average carbon footprint of 33 Canadians.
