Scientists believe that mermaids are just a product of human imagination when they see manatee or dugongs from a distance.

A mammal fossil - sea cow - lived 20 million years ago and has been found by geologists from the University of Florence, USA at a cliff of groundwater in Palawa, Philippines.

Currently, more than 700 species of animals and plants are seriously threatened and 500 species are at risk of extinction, nearly doubling the number of 2001.
