The absurd truth about the Sun makes 99% of people misunderstand
The sun has tremendous heat. But if you think that the closer to the Sun, the hotter, then you are wrong, because science has proven otherwise.
The sun has tremendous heat. But if you think that the closer you are to the Sun, the hotter it is, then you are wrong, because science has proven otherwise.
With fireplaces, you will feel hotter every time you approach them. But with the Sun, the opposite has been proven by scientists. This shows that the universe does not always follow the usual laws.
Unusual physical rules occur in the Sun's atmosphere.
Specifically, the photosphere (or surface) of the Sun recorded temperatures from 3,700 to 6,200 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the further away from the surface, the hotter the atmosphere becomes. At the corona - the outermost layer of atmosphere about 2,100 km from the surface, the temperature spikes to a staggering 500,000 degrees Celsius.
In addition to the Sun, a number of other stars have also exhibited this strange temperature difference phenotype, which scientists have struggled to find out for a long time.
In 2013, researchers in the UK came up with a hypothesis, suggesting that magnetic dynamics (MHD) waves distribute energy from below the photosphere directly up to the corona, almost like "a train express" has no stops.
To do this, they used advances in imaging technology to examine the chromosphere, and the middle layers of the photosphere to examine the nature of the MHD waves. Their calculations confirmed that waves could be responsible for transporting energy to the corona and heating that layer.
"Our observations allow an estimate of the energy transported by magnetic waves in response to the requirement for unexplained temperature increases at the corona," said Richard Morton, Northumbria scientist, King UK University, explained when announcing the discovery.
