Many people find it extremely interesting to discover the heart shape of a beetle before Valentine's Day.
Recently, a new group of beetles named Ivierhipidius was found in a rain forest in Belize (a country in Central America). A special feature is that this group of beetles has heart-shaped burning legs. And more specifically, the time of publication of this bug was only two days before Valentine's Day.
Burning heart-shaped legs of beetles Ivierhipidius
This species was discovered by Max Barclay , a specialist at London's Natural History Museum, on a field trip in Central America. During the trip, the museum collected a collection of up to thousands of insects, including this strange group of bugs.
They have a burning portion (joint between the leg and abdomen) with a heart shape - a feature that does not touch any other beetle.
This group includes 4 species: Ivierhipidius paradoxus (Honduras and Belize), Ivierhipidius monneorum (Brazil), Ivierhipidius Youngi (Ecuador), and Ivierhipidius cechorum (Argentina).
Barclay said: " All individuals found are male - we have not found children yet. We do not yet know what heart-shaped leg burning is, but there is a very special point in the male beetle. they don't use their mouths to eat. Their mouths are only for the purpose of finding a mate . "
It is known that beetles are the largest group of organisms on Earth. According to statistics, there are 1 beetle for every 5 creatures, and so far we have not determined how many species of bugs on this Earth.
