The owner of Merlin's cat, Mrs. Tracy Westood (47), lives in the town of Torquay, Devon County. To understand Merlin's intensity, Westood measured the sound of the cat, suddenly reaching a number of 100 decibels.

Usually, a cat often makes a sound with an average intensity of about 25 decibels. So with the number of 100 decibels, Merlin the cat was four times louder than the cry of the other cats.

Ms. Westwood also said that she hopes Guinness will soon recognize this record of Merlin. Currently, the cat holding this record is called Smokey in Northampton city (England) with a measured sound intensity of 92 decibels.
