The analysis also showed that for those who eat 100g of processed meat daily, the risk of cancer could increase to 38% and even 57% for those 150g. The incidence of pancreatic cancer is higher in men than women. The reason may be because men often eat more processed meat than women.

'Analysis of previous studies has shown that eating processed meat increases the risk of pancreatic cancer. In addition, this food increases the risk of cancer in men is higher than women , 'one team member told Sky News.

This study is another proof of the negative effects of processed meat on human health. Previous studies have shown that processed meat is related to bowel cancer. According to scientists, chemicals used to preserve processed meats are the cause.

Dr Jessica Harris, of the British Cancer Research Institute, said: 'The toxic chemicals (used in meat preservation) can affect DNA and increase the risk of cancer.'
