A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck California, USA. There is currently no information about casualties or the risk of tsunamis.

The earthquake occurred at 9h18 local time (12:18 am on March 10, Hanoi), the epicenter was 80km from Eureka city and more than 6km deep in the sea, dragging the aftershocks to 4.6 Richter. Vibration can be felt strongly and on a large scale, according to police and fire officials in Humboldt district, according to NBC.
Earthquakes are a frequent occurrence in Eureka, a city of 27,000 people located northwest of San Francisco and 150 km from the Oregon coastline.
The US National Tsunami Center says there is no threat of tsunami in the area.
