The structure of the semi-circle trap created by Mr. Thieu is very simple, consisting only of two sections of steel wire bent into two semicircles, without a primer, but instead is a piece of foam as counterbalance, a spring. When the mouse runs over the counterweight piece, then holding the hook out, the trap will collapse and the mouse will die on the spot.

This trap is suitable for many terrains, from plain to terraced fields can effectively kill rats. In particular, according to Mr. Thieu, trap life can last up to 7, 8 years. In the area of ​​1 sao of rice, if avoiding mice by stretching the plastic, it will cost at least 100 thousand dong. While a semicircle trap costing VND 15,000 can be used over many rice crops, especially 3-5 sao only need 1-2 traps. Mr. Thieu said, in 2010 alone, his rat-killing team killed over 18,000 mice.

With his effective experience and knowledge of rat killing, Mr. Thieu has opened many training courses to instruct 4,886 agencies, factories and agricultural cooperatives to set traps from Hanoi, Ha Nam and Hai Duong to Soc. Moon, An Giang, Ca Mau . and supply over 863,000 traps.
