Although the Departments of Science and Technology in the region spend about 70-80% of scientific research projects in service of agriculture and rural areas, many areas of farmers need not be met. First is the need for information. Currently farmers lack information, especially forecasts. Therefore, people still produce spontaneously. Seeing what agricultural products are priced, many people rush to work without knowing what the market needs.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Anh, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Department of Science and Technology cited, Tay Nguyen is the key coffee area of the country. Coffee is the source of tens of thousands of households, but the forecasting work has not been properly focused. In early 2006, coffee prices increased suddenly, but inefficient farmers for sale were an example. Mr. Huynh Phuoc - Director of Da Nang Department of Science and Technology said that it is necessary to have information network for farmers in the Central - Highlands region.

Biotechnology is one of the key points to create a breakthrough in agricultural modernization but has not been properly focused. Shown in improving the quality of seeds, plants and animals in some areas has not been as effective as expected. The target projects and programs have not yet achieved solid results. The situation of running out of money happened when farmers also forgot the project. Then the grainless thing, the thing that doesn't come out .

After two years, the Farmer Association and the Ministry of Science and Technology launched a joint program, the two sides launched the "Science for farmers" Website, compiled and published tens of thousands of copies of propaganda books and materials; tens of thousands of science and technology transfer classes, deploying hundreds of scientific research topics, organizing the contest of " Competing farmers " in localities .

Delegates from Dac Lac Department of Science and Technology said that the transfer of science and technology progress should come from local conditions and farmers' needs;

Mr. Le Trac Ky - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Farmers' Association - proposed a problem that farmers are very interested in, which is to bring science and technology into the field of small industry and handicraft, especially with industries Traditionally, farmers in the Central Highlands, especially ethnic minorities, have many unique traditional occupations, but they have not developed much to improve their living standards. Some delegates suggested that the issues in the region should be studied soon by scientists such as anti-landslide prevention; rural environmental pollution; sustainable production development on specific land areas.

Practical research, investigation and survey should be conducted before the transfer of science and technology to farmers. In the process of scientific and technical transfer, it is necessary to consider the law of supply and demand. For farmers in remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas should prioritize investment in models to recommend replication.
