This is a metabolic energy plant from the world's first waste of potatoes.
Located in Carlise, Cumbria, the plant is known to be a production machine thanks to a biofilter that converts discarded potatoes and potato peels into electrical and steam energy.
This "green environment" transmitter could produce 3,500 Mwh of electricity a year, enough to power 850 households. This generator is expected to produce about 5,000 Mwh of steam per year.
Potato peel is taken from the factory's own food production line. The Birmingham-based parent company of Cavaghan & Gray - 2 Sisters Food Group said the biofilter will soon be launched across the UK.
