"Iceberg" was formed at the end of 2014 and still exists today.

It is known that after the historic snowstorm named Snowvember landed in the US territory in late 2014, it has left terrible consequences for both people and nature here. In particular, a large area around the North and East of the United States, including the city of Buffalo, was enveloped by an enormous amount of snow and ice that hindered people's lives.

USA Today correspondent reports on the iceberg at Buffalo.

The city government then had to mobilize large excavators and bulldozers to clean up the remaining ice and snow on the streets. People gathered all the snow collected in an empty area near the Central Station to the east of the city, forming a giant artificial 'iceberg' here.

A large amount of snow and ice in the entire area is gathered here.

But up to now, this 'iceberg' is still present after more than 8 months of being brought to the gathering place. More and more locals are paying attention to this strange thing, they start to show astonishment when they witness the number of snowflakes on their own without melting even though the region has long been summer .

Explaining the 'unbelievable' case happening in Buffalo, Patrick Hammer, a state-leading meteorologist, said: ' When city workers pile snow into heaps, they even stick to it. Sand and countless garbage around. They unknowingly become ideal insulation materials to keep the thick ice underneath melting for a long time. '

Outside soil and garbage protect snow and ice from heat from the sun and surroundings.

Dr. Hammer also emphasized that the fact that this 'iceberg' is still melting everyday but at an extremely slow speed. This smoldering melt has even created a small prison behind the vacant land.

Scientists say that in at least another month this iceberg has not been able to dissolve even though the outdoor temperature has risen to more than 30 degrees Celsius.
