Piotr Naskrecki was walking in a tropical forest when he heard a sound like something crawling under his feet. He thought it was a small animal such as a mouse or possum.

"When I turned on the light, I couldn't understand what I was seeing," said a researcher at Harvard University's Zoological Museum. A few minutes later, he realized this was a giant spider.

According to Live Science, this is a giant South American spider, the world's largest spider, according to the Guinness Book of Records. Their foot length can reach 30cm, body part is as big as a fist, weighing about 170 grams. In other words, the spider is equivalent to a puppy.

Thanks to this feature and the hard legs and nails, the spider can produce a larger sound than other individuals when moving on the ground.

In addition to thorns, the spiders can use 5cm long fangs to defend. The bite of a spider is poisonous, but not fatal but extremely painful. When rubbed, the hairs have small hooks and spikes that will make a loud sound and help them defend themselves.

Giant spiders often hunt at night, easily killing parents and young birds if found nest. Their food is also frogs, earthworms and some insects.

The title has been changed.
