A team of Iranian engineers are developing robots that can build buildings up to 200m in just one day.
Behrokh Khoshnevis, an Iranian professor at the Viterbi Engineering School (USC) in California, USA, said he will focus on the Selective Separation Sintering (SSS) project for the next 20 years. SSS is a reinforced method that uses a special bonding powder that automatically builds buildings based on 3D printing technology.

According to Khoshnevis, SSS is the first process that can be carried out in a weightless environment. Compared to high-cost technologies such as lasers, the SSS offers higher speeds, greater accuracy and independence, and has high application potential in space and on planets.
Khoshnevis, who has twice won the US Aerospace Industries (NASA), has said construction work is dangerous, and figures show that about 60,000 people have died in construction. submit.
"The construction process is also time consuming and expensive, so building robots is an urgent need," Khoshnevis said.
"For many years, I have been working on the development of lunar and mesoscopic construction techniques from the available materials in space, and I hope to be able to carry out this project in my home country. Iran is , " Khoshnevis said. "With this method, a 200 m high can be completed in one day, of course, we will start with smaller buildings."
