The life of no money, no technology of tribes in the Himalayas

Photographer Cat Vinton recorded the pure and simple life of the Chang Tang-Pa people living in the Tibetan-Indian border, in the snow-covered Himalayas.

Born in a nomadic family living in the Chang Tang plateau in the Himalayas, Jimmai is part of a gradual lifestyle.

Photographer Cat Vinton spent more than 2 months living with a Chang Tang-Pa family on the Tibetan-Indian border.She slept in a tent made from buffalo yak skin with them.

Gaysto's family welcomed Vinton.Gaysto's daughter, Sonam, stood to the right, the son Karrma stood in front and his wife Yangyen stood on the left.

Sonam is 12 years old.She was responsible for making sure the family's goats had enough food - a difficult thing when most of the land was under thick snow.

Chang Tang-Pa people do not use money, live mainly by exchanging goods (mostly goats and goat products).

Ms. Yangyen and Karma share a gentle moment in the house.Without science and technology, the Chang Tang-Pa people live simply, depending on the surrounding environment.

After the nomads drove the goats from the snowy slopes, they quickly fed them.

Ms. Yangyen is making tsampa - a Tibetan powder - from roasted barley.

When Mr. Gaysto's family set out for the grazing area for the new season, they left behind the foundation of the makeshift shelter.Next year, their family will return to this place.

They follow Buddhism and often pray early in the morning.

Mr. Gaysto is 55 years old.He and his tribe lived in an ancient style, with buffalo yak leather tents and cattle grazing.

Vinton said the future of the Chang Tang-Pa is unstable, with the culture gradually disappearing.
