A student at New York University designed a special dress . As the wearer shares more personal information online, the dress will show off her flesh by gradually becoming transparent.

The dress was named "x.pose" , designed by Xuedi Chen. Chen, along with his partner Pedro Oliveira, used Rhino and a 3D printer to create a spider-like skirt. The slots on the dress are fitted with 20 interactive screens. When the wearer shares personal information online, the interactive screen from milky white to translucent. As more information is shared, more and more monitors become transparent.

In order to create a transparent effect for interactive displays, Chen first wrote a mobile application through two sets of Node.js and PhoneGap tools. This app will record the wearer's personal data such as location and what information she shares in real time. These data will then be transmitted to the skirt "x.pose" via Bluetooth. Arduino processors will receive information and direct the interactive display from white milk to transparent while personal data is shared.

Chen's dress is a product of the Interactive Media Week organized by New York University, where students can relish their creative work in the field of information technology.

But why did Chen create such a ridiculous dress? What is your idea? "In the real world, we can allow any part of the body to be exposed by choosing the right kind of clothing," Chen explained, "but in the cyberspace we have little control over personal information. The services we use are: We are naked and vulnerable in the world ... Because we do not have complete control over our data, I decide to create it so that everyone can see it.
