There are nearly 50 boulders, 22 of which are engraved with the symbol of Tiya bear, while the rest are carved with diverse shapes including people, weapons and symbols. The meaning of these symbols has not been decoded by the researchers. It is known that there are about 100 other rocks scattered in different areas of Ethiopia.

According to statistics, Yegran Dingay monuments are classified into 3 categories:

  1. Anthropomorphic type looks like stone figures carved in abstract style. Anthropomorphics were found depicting figures of people standing, leaning on their hips or resting their chin on their hands, etc.
  2. Phalic second type: monolithic rocks with a height of about 4-5 meters and are engraved with diverse shapes from animals, plants to domestic appliances.
  3. The final type is Non-Phalic: high stone pillars, thinner than the two above types and often engraved on the shape of weapons.
