Sam Sung's engineering department is planning to launch a self-determined and self-destructing robot that is 3.2 km away.
" The goal of this project is to move the border patrolman out of danger and replace it with a robot ," said Shin Hyun-don, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense told the Korea Times .
Equipped with dual and infrared sensors to determine the target from 4 km in daytime conditions and 2 km at night, the robot can alert or fire on targets with rubber bullets or use K-3 machine gun. The sale price of the robot is about $ 200,000. Sam Sung hopes to sell 1,000 robots in the first year.
