The Japan Space Exploration Agency (JAXA) has just introduced video images of the scene of ' Earth Rises '. This is the first time this scene was filmed in high definition by a special camera mounted on the Kaguya probe on orbit around the Moon.

Beneath the images are the heaving surface of the Moon, and on the horizon, a tiny blue planet, the Earth, rising gradually, similar to the Sun appearing every morning in the sky of the Earth.

This first-ever high-quality video has been made and transmitted from space thanks to the combined techniques by JAXA and Japanese radio and television corporation NHK that have made high-definition television cameras .

The Kaguya probe ship launched on September 14 by the Japanese H-2A missile has entered orbit 100km from the Moon's surface. The ship has an accurate mapping mission of the Moon to learn about the surface and the underlying layers of the planet.

Scientific observations will actually begin in December, once all equipment is installed and technical tests are completed.
