The sloths living on the tree are now descendants of the lazy sloth, which is quite large. When terrestrial food is no longer abundant, these ancient sloths begin to fumble out to sea to find food.

Researchers from the Sorbonne University (France) examined bone density of ancient sloths. According to the Royal Society B yearbook, the team showed that over time, the fossil bone density of sloth has increased and it is evident that this mammal is more likely to be from diligently plains and mountains go to the sea.

Fossil samples were sampled by scientists from museums in Lima (Peru) and Paris (France). The study examines the bones of five different lazy species that lived 5-8 million years ago. Through CT scanners have compared the bone density of the ancient sloths and today. Among them, the lazy land group was very popular in North and South America but was extinct about 10,000 years ago.

UPI news agency said with such a bone structure, when food is scarce, the old sloths can dive into the sea to sip grassy grass in shallow water and then wade further and dive deeper. However, the lazy species does not transfer completely to the marine environment but it is only a temporary solution when difficult.
